FAQ’s

Players:
Q: I live outside of Ohio, am I allowed to play in these events?
A: Absolutely.  Everyone is allowed to play in these tournaments.

Championship Tournament:
Q: If I qualify for the Championship tournament do I get the same partner that I played with in the qualifying tournament?
A: No. The Championship tournament is a blind draw tournament where everyone who qualified and attends the Championships will be randomly partnered with another person who qualified and attends. There is of course a slight chance that you will get the same partner, but it is unlikely.

Money Shot:
Q: I want to enter the raffle for the money shot, but I don’t want to play in the tournament, is that ok?
A: No. Only players entered into that day/night’s tournament may enter the money shot raffle.

Equipment:
Q: What kind of equipment will be used at these events?
A: We will provide the equipment for most of the events which includes high quality boards and two-sided resin bags. Two-sided bags have one side that slides well and another side that sticks more.  In some cases the host location may have their own equipment that they prefer to use and we will abide by their decision on which to use.

Q: Can I bring my own bags to these events?
A: No, sorry, players must use the equipment provided at each event.

Qualified Players:
Q: I have already played a qualifying tournament and qualified for the Championships.  If I play again and win, can I give my 2nd Championship bid to someone else?
A: No.  Once you’ve qualified you are welcome to continue playing in Qualifying events and winning cash at those events, but you cannot win another bid into the Championship event.

Q: Will bids be “passed down” if the winning team has already qualified for the Championships?
A: Initially it was thought that we should pass the bids down, but in order to increase the value of these bids, we will not pass down any bids if the winning team(s) have already qualified.

Hosting an Event:
Q: I am interested in hosting an event at my bar/restaurant/club… How do I do it?
A: Send us an email at ohiocornholetour@sbcglobal.net and we will work with you to get a qualifier set-up.

Q: I am interested in hosting an event, but what do I get out of it?
A: The establishment hosting the event gets a free listing on our website and the ability to make all food/sales at the event and give their patrons something fun to do

Q: I am interested in hosting a qualifying event, but I do not like the idea of players being randomly partnered with someone else. Can I change that part of the format?
A: Not really. All qualifying events must be blind draw tournaments.  The only thing that can change with the format is we can run double elimination, triple elimination or any other format as long as we have the time and space to do so.  If you prefer to have a tournament that does not use the blind draw format we would be happy to work with you and even run the event, but it would not be a qualifying event.

Q: I am interested in hosting a qualifying event, but I do not like the prize structure, can I change it?
A: Yes. The prize structure can be changed (but should be noted ahead of time). However, the number of teams that will qualify for the Championships can not change.
